Karen Sullins - M.S., LPC

Karen is a highly skilled and experienced licensed professional counselor with more than twenty years tenure in crisis response.  She is certified in Crisis Intervention, Threat Assessment, Compassion Fatigue, Mass Casualty and many other specialties, which she trained with national and state organizations i.e. Alabama Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support, CDP and Homeland Security, FEMA, Red Cross, and Sandy Hook Promise.  

Her heartbeat and pulse are the driving force to providing therapy, counseling, and care to some of the communities’ most vulnerable jewels. Karen’s passion and commitment to school safety when asked by Sandy Hook Promise to speak on their behalf to the Federal Commision from Washington at the State Capital of Alabama to advocate for gun sense laws to protect children in schools. She has been featured by NPR as a voice for the voiceless. She has been featured by TED Talk speaker Oleg Lougheed and many other social media outlets.

She holds degrees in Sociology, Psychology, Nursing, and Counseling Psychology. She is a recent graduate of Highlands College, earning her certificate in Leadership and Ministry. A member of the Church of the Highlands who currently serves on the Dream Team, Highlands Kids, and a vocalist on the Praise and Worship team.
